The world’s first science base dedicated to studying and spreading knowledge about the Chinese crocodile lizard opened on Wednesday in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The base covers an area of 5,400 square meters. The base lets visitors learn about this rare species with interactive facilities such as sand table models and multimedia. Beyond popularizing knowledge of the reptile, researchers say the base will become a key platform for researches.
