










Chairman of the Financial Commission, Acting President and SSPC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on Tuesday addressed the meeting of the Financial Commission in Nay Pyi Taw.
Firstly, the Chairman of the Financial Commission stated that the supplementary appropriation for the 2025-2026 fiscal year would primarily be allocated to expenditures for post-Mandalay earthquake recovery efforts, as well as for national development and public benefit works.
He stressed the necessity for Union-level organizations, Union Ministries, and Region/State Governments to systematically scrutinize and utilize expenditures by setting priority programs at the sectoral and regional levels to fulfill the objectives set by the government.
He mentioned that the Financial Commission is tasked with discussing and approving the requests for supplementary appropriations from Union Ministries and organizations for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the additional grants to be provided by the Union to Regions and States, and the bill for the further allocation and expenditure of Union funds for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
Next, matters including the status of the step-by-step scrutiny of the supplementary appropriation requests for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, issues concerning expenditure from the General Surplus Fund, the supplementary appropriation list, the original estimated budget, the revised estimated budget, the bill for the further allocation and expenditure of Union funds, and suggestions for future actions were discussed.
In response to the discussions, the Chairman of the Financial Commission emphasized the need to utilize financial resources in areas beneficial to the state and the public. He urged Union Ministers and Region/State Chief Ministers to ensure that budget revenues are actually collected and that expenditures are only used in genuinely beneficial areas.
