







A final coordination meeting to enable the enactment of the Draft Law Amending the Revenue Appellate Tribunal Law was held on December 16 at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the meeting, the Union Minister for Legal Affairs Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo delivered opening remarks, after which the Chairman of the Revenue Appellate Tribunal, U Myint Oo, explained that the purpose of amending the Revenue Appellate Tribunal Law is to ensure that clear and comprehensive information is included in the acceptance, hearing, examination, and adjudication of tax appeals, and to establish fair tax appeal procedures for both the Government and taxpayers.
Subsequently, responsible officials attending the meeting discussed, section by section, the provisions included in the law amending the Revenue Appellate Tribunal Law. The Union Minister Union Attorney General reviewed and found that the proposed amendments, which are intended to align the law with current conditions, address matters that are genuinely necessary for handling tax appeal cases and would support the Government’s taxation policy. Therefore, they held final coordination discussions to enable the enactment of the Draft Law Amending the Revenue Appellate Tribunal Law, it’s learnt.
