Farewell to 16th Malaysian King

Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah ended their reign as the 16th Malaysian King Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the queen on Tuesday.

A special ceremonial send-off for the royal couple to their home state Pahang was held to show the gratitude of the Malaysian government and its people for Their Majesties’ services and sacrifices. They left the National Palace before arriving at the Parliament Square for a departure ceremony.

Upon their arrival, Their Majesties received the Royal Salute accompanied by the national anthem. The Prime Minister and foreign representatives were also present to pay their respect to their Majesties during the ceremony. Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, who has been elected as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong for five years starting on Wednesday.
