Factory Inspection : Visiting the No.2 Steel Mill (Pang Pet)

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited the No. 2 Steel Mill (Pang Pet) in Taunggyi, Shan State, on Saturday afternoon to inspect operations and meet with officials and staff.

During the meeting, the Union Minister instructed officials to ensure that all staff and their family members are able to vote in the multi-party democratic general election on December 28, 2025. He also emphasized the need to review the progress of ongoing projects, identify strengths and weaknesses, and complete all budgeted projects within the fiscal year.

He urged departments to procure necessary materials in advance and to regularly test and maintain machinery that has already been repaired or installed.  He also encouraged staff to apply their technical knowledge in serving the public, to use modern technology in industrial inspections, and to continue learning to enhance their professional skills.

Officials reported on project progress and inspection activities across Shan State. Then, the Union Minister visited the raw material processing workshop and the air filtration plant, where he observed the operation and testing of installed machinery.
