Extension of Tax Exemption: MOFR issued public announcement on tax extension

Due to conflicts in the Middle East region causing global fuel oil prices to rise, the Ministry of Finance and Revenue has issued a public notification announcing the extension of tax exemption periods for the importation of HSD (500 ppm) diesel fuel, fertilizers, and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

According to the notification, the exemption period for customs duty, special goods tax, commercial tax, and the 2% advance income tax previously collected on the importation of HSD (500 ppm) diesel fuel, originally exempted from April 1, 2026, to April 30, 2026 will be extended until May 31, 2026.

The exemption period for the 2% advance income tax on the importation of fertilizers will also be extended until May 31, 2026. Furthermore, exemptions for customs duty, commercial tax, and advance income tax on the importation of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) will be granted from May 1, 2026, to May 31, 2026, according to the announcement published through state-run newspapers.
