Arrangements are being made out to transport the marine products and other export items to Bangladesh from Rakhine State of Myanmar through the Government-to-Government [G to G] system instead of trade through border gates. According to Department of Fisheries, higher income will be earned from the exports if trading with G to G system is compatible and there will be better support for the economy of 2 countries through maritime trading.

Director, Department of Fisheries (Rakhine State), Thet Oo said "Currently, trade is being done through border gates and also, plans are being made to export with G to G system. If G to G system is available, we can export local products abroad than before and the deserved tax will be earned for the country. It will be more convenient for those who are exporting as they can sell directly to buyers without brokers and the export value will be higher than the current one. Discussions are underway for the G to G system."

To activate the G to G system, cargo ships need to get the international certification and their size must be the one that can carry a specified amount of export goods.

In 2020-2021 fiscal year, more than 5,000 tons of marine products worth 4.76 million USD were exported to Bangladesh, more than 11,000 tons worth 13.38 million USD during 2021-2022 min-budget period, leading to an increase compared to the previous year. Till July 2022-2023 fiscal year, over 400 tons of marine products worth over 50 million USD were exported.
