Evidences Of Stone Age: Excavation Conducted In Southern Shan State

The Department of Archaeology and National Museum under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture is scheduled to make field trip excavation for Stone Age cultural evidences in Southern Shan State during March and April.

During the excavation in March, the team has discovered two stone weapons from LoneKar  Hill near PhaYarPyo  and NyaungPinKhaShay  Villages, southwest of Heho in Kalaw Township. Moreover, the fossils of various animals and stone weapons were discovered at the rock shelter, adjacent to KyaukGaungKyaung Cave no.(1) near LaeKaing Village in YwaNgan Township.

The excavation will be continued at KyaukGaungKyaung  Cave no.(2), LoneKar  Hill and LuYoe Mountain for more evidences. Stone Age is the most primitive culture among others, and the department is making field trip across Myanmar.
