The European Union on Friday condemned a US ban on diesel exports, warning it would undermine trust in Washington as a reliable partner. European Commission spokeswoman Anna-Kaisa Itkonen made the remarks at a press conference, adding that the bloc was ready to work with the International Energy Agency on the possible release of fuel reserves to bring down energy prices.

She added that "the European Union is ready for collective action in the context of the International Energy Agency, and it is their role to organize possible stock release".
