EU chief pledges 20 million euros for flood-hit Bosnia

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Thursday pledged to provide aid to the flood-stricken areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) through the European Union's Solidarity Fund to support recovery efforts.

She made the pledge during a visit to Jablanica in central BiH, as part of her regional tour following the severe flash floods in early October. The floods in central BiH claimed 26 lives and destroyed hundreds of buildings, with extensive losses to infrastructure, with estimation for the damage to be around 27.7 million U.S dollars.
