
Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw TunAungMyint attended the opening of the ethnic rights forum in Dawei of Tanintharyi Region on Wednesday.
In his address, the Union Minister said that the forum would focus on matters regarding unity, development, peace process, election and nationwide ceasefire agreement. He added the outcome of the forum would be a help to establishing a democratic federal union. He informed that the ethnic people could report to concerned departments if they lose their rights.
Also, Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U MyatKo made a speech. The opening ceremony also included a performance by the Dawei ethnic culture group. The forum began with Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung stressing the world political affairs, Myanmar political affairs, ethnic rights protection law and ethnic rights. This 3-day forum is set to continue till the 10th of June.
