Ethnic Areas development: MoEA and MEEA hold a work coordination meeting

The Ministry of Ethnic Affairs and Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneur Association (MEEA) held a work coordination meeting for the national solidarity and ethnic area development at the Ministry on Tuesday.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint called on Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneur Association and the Association of Ethnic Group Entrepreneurs to report if they have difficulty in carrying out the socio-economic development activities of the ethnic people.

The Ministry will coordinate the needs as much as possible.The Union Minister called on the Ethnic Civil Society Organizations including Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneur Association to participate for the national unity and development of ethnic areas as well as striving for building a Union based on democracy and federalism for the future of the State and the interest of national races.

Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung said that the Association is like a bridge linking the government and the ethnic people. If local ethnic entrepreneurs develop and reach the international level, it will support for the country.

The Ministry will provide necessary assistance for the socio-economic improvement of ethnic people. Later, Vice Chairman of MEEA, the General Secretary, the Joint-Secretary and officials made reports on which the Deputy Minister coordinated essential. The meeting then ended with a concluding remark by the Union Minister.
