Ethnic Affairs: Efforts for development of nationalities youth

Member of the State Security and Peace Commission Union Minister for Border Affairs and Ethnic Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae held a meeting with the ethnic literature and culture associations in Mon State on Wednesday.

In his speech, the Union Minister explained the efforts for safeguarding the ethnic language, literature, history, arts, cultural heritage and traditional customs as well as the implementations for socio-economic development including education, health and transportation.

Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung elaborated on the discussion. Then, the Union Minister provided cash rewards for the Mon, Bamar, Kayin and Pa-O Literature and Culture Associations as well as for the staff. The Union Minister later proceeded to Mudon Women Vocational Training School and heard reports and work implementations for development of border areas, human resource development and conducting of vocational training courses.

The Union Minister provided cash rewards and inspected the hostels and training halls. At the Mon State Development Supervisory Office, the Union Minister met with the staff and urged all for ensuring stability, border areas development, socio-economic progress and human resource development of nationalities youth.
