Environmental protesters took to a field near the NATO summit venue in Watford on Wednesday. They were angry at the defense alliance's presence in the northwest London suburb. Freya Freeman-Taylor said she was protesting because NATO was incredibly destructive and had a negative impact on the environment and on human rights. While most of the protesters were made up of concerned citizens and members of environmental or anti-war organizations, one prospective parliamentarian was also there - despite his avowed support for NATO. One of the protesters told reporters he stood by the Labor party's policy to support the organization, but was there to support climate activists and protest the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump.
