Environmental Conservation: Union Minister Met with GJEA and MFMA Delegations

The Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi received Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association Chairman U La Phai Khunsar and members and Myanmar Federation of Mining Association Chairman U Khin Maung Han and members separately at the meeting hall of the ministry, Nay Pyi Taw on 15th June.

At the meetings, the union minister urged to give special care on the environmental conservation measures in the extracting process of gems and minerals, to comply to the respective law, by-law, order and directives, implement the procedures of environmental management and environmental impact assessment, carry out Corporate Social Responsibility-CSR and address the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

The ministry is ever ready to cooperate with Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association and Myanmar Federation of Mining Association for the development of gems and mineral sectors.

Next, the union minister coordinated necessaries upon the reports of the chairmen of associations and member entrepreneurs, it’s learnt.
