Environmental Conservation: Meeting with faculties of Forestry University

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U San Oo met with officials, teachers and staff from the University of Forestry and Environmental Science and the department of Forest Research in Yezin, Nay Pyi Taw on 2nd May.

The Union Minister said research development plays a vital role for the nation and its people to provide good environment and eco-system. He stressed the need to conduct quality Applied Researches continuously. He also added that AI can be used in clarifying the results of forest management and preserving biodiversity research.

The Rector of the University and director of the Department of Forest Research (Branch) reported on the status of the University and department, and preparation for university open season. The meeting ended with clising remarks by the Union Minster.

The Union Minister and party then observed soil quality testing in Soil laboratory, research works in the Center for Biodiversity Research and Preservation,  project on Preserving and Research Works jointly conducted by Forest department and Chinese Academy of Science – CAS, and water quality testing.

They also viewed the designated site to build Recreation Center, Lecture Building and hostel for the University. At the ShweKya ရွှေကျ Nursery Garden, the Director of Forest Department (Nay Pyi Taw) presented the status on nurturing of saplings for State level Tree Planting Ceremony.
