Engineering Industry: Discussion with Myanmar Engineering Council

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than on Tuesday held a virtual discussion with patrons and executive members of the Myanmar Engineering Council.

During the discussion, the Union Minister highlighted the free and fair election of the 57 executive members under the supervision of the patrons for the 3rd term of the Council after the State Administration Council enacted the law No. 40/2022 on the 26th of April 2022 amending the Myanmar Engineering Council Law.

It’s found out that the executive members have been performing their duties since elected. He expressed his belief that the members will overcome difficulties with patience, perseverance and diligence.

There will be many difficulties to face in the process of becoming a full member of the Washington Accord. Also, the Union Minister said that he believes that the Council will continue performing its tasks dutifully.

He also explained the professionalism of an engineer, know how, ethics, skill development, assessment of skills, requirements to become an engineering professional, technological developments, future trends of academic institutions and qualities of a world-class educator.
