




Union Minister for Electric Power and for Energy U Thaung Han and Deputy Minister Dr Aung Zeya inspected the 30 MW Thapyaywa Solar Power Plant and supply of electricity from the 230 KV Thapyaywa main station Sunday morning in Thapyaywa village, Thazi Township, Meiktila Dirtrict, Mandalay Region.
During the visit, the Union Minister spoke about the need to implement solar plants in the country, to use solar tracking technology, which is used in Thapyaywa Solar Power Plant, in future solar projects. He also added that plans will be made to implement new solar projects in the vacant lands near the Thapyaywa Solar Plant to meet the state’s electricity demand.
He also instructed officials to pay attention to the uninterrupted power supply and transmission of electricity from the power plant. At the 230 KV Thapyaywa power station, the Union Minister awarded the staff of the substation for the excellence in performance, in accord with the guidelines of the Prime Minister for recognizing and honouring outstanding civil servants.
