






The Compressed Natural Gas Department under the Ministry of Energy is providing the needs of natural gas of CNG vehicles.
The department provides over 18 million cubic feet of natural gas daily to more than 28,000 CNG vehicles in Yangon, Mandalay and Magwe Regions through 46 CNG Filling Stations. In Yangon Region, 41 CNG Filling Stations are operating to provide services to almost 27,000 CNG vehicles.
There are 2 CNG Filling Stations in Mandalay Region and 3 in Magwe Region which provide sale service to over 700 and 500 CNG vehicles daily. Union Minister U Myo Myint Oo on Saturday visited Compressed Natural Gas Department in Insein Township of Yangon Region, and heard report on the sales of CNG in Yangon, Mandalay and Magwe Regions.
The Union Minister instructed for worksite safety and He also inspected Retest Factory which provides testing service for CNG Cylinders for safety measures. First testing of CNG Cylinders have been made after using five years, follow up by the retests in next three years and two years respectively.
Once it reached to the expire, the replacement has been made with new CNG Cylinders. The Union Minister also visited the CNG Filling Station in YwaMa and inspected the filling of natural gas to the CNG vehicles and maintenance of machinery.
