Energy Cooperation : Myanmar delegation in Moscow

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin is attending the 8th Russia Energy Week International Forum (REW) in Moscow, Russian Federation. On 17th October, the delegation met with Russian Minister for Energy Mr. Sergey Tsivilyov.

The meeting was also attended by high-ranking officials from INTER RAO Export and JSC RosGeo. During the meeting, both sides cordially discussed matters pertaining to bilateral energy cooperation, oil and gas technology cooperation and acceleration, human resource development in geology and petroleum engineering sector, coal-fired power generation as well as capacity enhancement of the gas turbines.

Next, an agreement on Pilot Project to Extract Natural Gas From Thin Sands Using Artifical Intelligence Technology was signed. This project is the very first project in Myanmar’s oil and gas sector which will be implemented using AI Technology to accelerate oil and gas production.

Then, the delegation met with the CEO of JSC RosGeo Mr. Sergey Ratkov. The meeting focused on thriving oil fields using AI Technology, excavation of potential oil field areas using modern technology, and scholar exchanges to encourage human resource development in geology and geophysiology.

After the meeting, Myanmar delegation made a tour to State Geological Museum. Later, Myanmar delegation met with the General Director of Gaztroprom International Limited and made discussions on engineering aspects to construct Oil refinery in Dawei Deep Sea Port, meeting target production capacity and export measures as well as upgrading of oil and gas pipelines and sending experts to examine potential projects.
