Employment of skilled workers: Union Minister visits skill training school in North Dagon

Union Minister for Labour U Myint Kyaing together with officials visited skill training school in Dagon Myothit (North) Township, Yangon on Monday and inspected signing employment contracts for sending workers to foreign countries and issuing Overseas Worker Identification Card (OWIC)and examination registration fee payment for workers who will go to work in the Republic of Korea through the EPS system.

The Ministry of Labour has signed employment contracts with a total of 399,39 workers who will go to work abroad from 25th March to 30th June 2022 and 36,365 workers who will go to work in 57 foreign countries have been issued OWIC.

Later, the Union Minister and party visited Vocational Training Center of CVT Myanmar which has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Labour in 2013 and spected classrooms, workshops, teaching aids, equipment and hand tools and circullums and  preparations for the opening of the courses in line with the instructions of the Ministry of Health.

They then proceeded to Arbourfield Assessment Center in South Dagon Township and looked into evaluating methods for the skills of 12 workers for the welder level-1 job and familiarization with the equipment to be used.

There, the Union Minister called for giving priority to the qualification of skilled workers and producing skilled workers for Welder jobs.
