Elephants fed special feast to mark Pongal fest in South India

In southern state of India, hundreds of wildlife enthusiasts gathered to watch elephants being fed a special feast for the Pongal festival in an Elephant Camp of Tamil Nadu.

Pongal is a multi-day harvest festival celebrated across several communities in Southern states of India. It is a celebration to thank the Sun, Mother Nature and the various farm animals that help to contribute to a bountiful harvest. And, it usually falls on the 14th or 15th of January each year.
