Electricity Supply: MOEP Union Minister discussed power distribution

Power Transmission Department under the Ministry of Electric Power held a coordination meeting with Region/ State Electrical Engineers in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

Union Minister U Thaung Han said electric power is the fundamental need for development of the nation, and plans have been made for meeting the increasing demand of electricity by laying down the short- and long-term plans. During this period, the power lines have been destroyed by PDF terrorists, and efforts are being made to repair the damaged power lines and towers.

Moreover, close supervision has been made to complete the new projects in time. The Union Minister called for cooperative efforts of all concerned persons for completion of the tasks in target periods and systematic arrangements for avoiding the wastages. The officials reported on power distribution in respective regions and states, arrangements to reduce the power shortage, collecting electricity bill, construction of power lines and sub-stations and future plans.
