Electricity Meeting: Union Minister Meets With Concerned Officials In Yangon

A work coordination meeting was held on Monday in Yangon for more electricity supply, power system stability and condition of sub-power plants in Yangon Region. In this meeting, Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aung Than Oo highlighted importance of continuation of stable electricity distribution in Yangon Region as about 1.5 million households consume electricity in the region, expansion of sub-power plants and maintenance and the need to reduce transmission loss.

Attendees reported on electricity distribution plans, number of electricity consumers in the region, bill collection, plan to reduce the transmission loss and condition of sub-power plants, and, the Union Minister coordinated the facts presented.

After the meeting, the Union Minister inspected implementation of Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition System (SCADA) which maximizes the efficiency of power distribution system by providing the features like real-time view into the operations, data trending and logging, maintaining desired voltages, currents and power factors and generating alarms.

The Union Minister also inspected implementation of Automatic Billing in 23 townships of the region and stressed to continue the implementation across the region.
