







The Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly conducted Electric Vehicle Inspection Training.
Vice Chairman of the National Steering Committee for Development of Electric Vehicle and related Industries Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than attended the opening ceremony of the training, held at Government Technical Institute (Insein) in Yangon on Saturday.
The Union Minister made a speech, saying that the government departments and private sector are making collaborative efforts in implementing the EV Policy in order to reduce the use of fuel and dependency on the fuel production countries and to have least impact on the natural environment.
Local and foreign investments are being called for the import and manufacturing of Electric Vehicles to substitute with fuel vehicles and to be used in public transportation. One-year pilot project has been designated for the import of electric vehicles and charger stations.
He added that the training is part of the pilot project, and it has been conducted to support in inspection the electric vehicles and to get technical knowledge. The trainees have to involve in inspecting the imported electric vehicles and chargers.
It is needed make inspection of meeting the regulations and standards and safety measures. The Union Minister urged all to make constant study on the technical knowledge of electric vehicles and served their respective roles for development of electric vehicles and related industries. A total of 39 trainees from 9 different departments are attending the training.
