The Union Election Commission held a coordination meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday to discuss preparations for the upcoming election.
Commission Chairman U Ko Ko made a speech, saying that Myanmar Electronic Voting Machines (MEVMs) will be used nationwide to ensure accurate and fair voting. Machines are being produced, transported, and stored safely in regions and states. Training programs for staff on MEVM handling and operation are underway and will be completed by July. A backup group of trainees will also be prepared, and all training must complete by the end of August. As the election will be held in phases by township, coordination is needed for the safe relocation of machines.
The Chairman called on state and regional governments to assist in logistics and ensure smooth implementation. Discussions covered MEVM deployment, training arrangements, and relocation planning. The meeting concluded with remarks from the UEC Chairman.
