





Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin attended a coordination meeting on Friday to ensure the successful conduct of the 2025 multi-party democratic general election, scheduled to begin on December 28.
The Chief Minister said the election will be held in phases nationwide starting December 28, and stressed the importance of conducting a free, fair, and transparent poll. In Rakhine State, voting will take place in Sittwe, Kyaukphyu and Manaung townships.
He said door-to-door voter list verification had been carried out and that more than 195,000 voters are expected to cast ballots at 164 polling stations across the state. He urged officials to prevent irregularities and ensure security so voters can vote safely and freely. Officials reported on election preparations and security measures.
The Chief Minister concluded the meeting with instructions to ensure smooth and lawful election procedures.
