Electing New Council Members: Myanmar Engineering Council selects its members

Myanmar Engineering Council Patron meeting to elect new council members for the third term of the council was organized in Yangon on Saturday.

Council Patron Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay said the ministry plays a significant role in the council, and efforts are being make to seek recognition from the ASEAN region and Asia Pacific regions for Myanmar’s Profession Level engineering with the collaboration of the country’s skilled experts.

He pointed out the needs to cooperate for achieving the aims of the council. He also stressed to follow the State Administration Council’s roadmap in implementing future work plans of the council under the law, rules and regulations, orders and directives.

It was followed by the discussions by Council Patrons Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than and U Aye Myint on the plans to select council members, ethics of engineers and the future work plans.

The Council Patrons coordinated the discussion and made tentative selection of the council members for the third term.
