Efforts for Stability : Tatmadaw regains control of Hpasawng Town

Tatmadaw columns have regained full control of Hpasawng  in Kayah State on February 15, which had been temporarily held by the KNPP, KNDF, and PDF terrorists.

The Tatmadaw carried out operations in the area after weeks of fighting. Earlier operations had also retaken nearby areas including Demoso in August 2025. Clashes occurred multiple times during the offensive, and weapons and explosives were seized.

Some security personnel were killed or injured during the fighting. It is learnt that stability and security operations will continue in Hpasawng and surrounding areas. The main road linking Loikaw, Demoso, Hpruso, Bawlakhe, and Hpasawng is expected to reopen soon after security measures are completed.
