








Union Minister for Cooperatives and Development of Rural Area U Hla Moe on Saturday made field inspections of cooperative businesses and rural area development activities and to fulfill the basic needs of the rural people in Yangon Region.
First, in YinTiteKwin Village-tract of Taikkyi Township, the Union Minister met with paddy and bean growers from Got and YinTiteKwin village-tracts.
In this meeting, the Union Minister explained works to expand the cultivation of oil crops in order to reduce the import of cooking oil, and edible oil and feed for livestock can also be obtained from peanut, sunflower and soybean.
A cooperative group will be established to supply soybean strains to the growers who are interested and the products will be purchased with local price, the Union Minister added.
Also, the Union Minister inspected construction of the Takhwa-Gongnyintan-Shokpinkat-Kalasu-Bamasu villages concrete road. The road is used by about 2,500 people from seven villages.
The project was implemented with an approved fund of 897.32 million Kyats in the financial year 2020-2021.
The Union Minister also inspected the concrete paving work of the roads in GonHnyinTan Village of Taikkyi Township carried out with the interest income of the Emerald Green Village Project.
There, he also met with members of the Emerald Green Project and locals. Also, the Union Minister inspected construction of a long concrete road connecting the Chawkone-Leppantansu-Pantapwinttaung villages with the Yangon-Pyay Road.
