
National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee held a meeting with religious leaders from Kachin State at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.
Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee and Union Minister for the Office of the Union Government (1) Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and committee members, pastors from Christian churches in Kachin State, and the Joint Secretary and officials of the Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC) attended the meeting via video conference.
Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Dr. Kha Aung Tu of the Catholic Church in Myitkyina addressed the meeting. Secretary of the Committee Lt-Gen Min Naung explained the progress of the peace process and the current situation.
Attendees discussed the peace and stability situation in Kachin State.
The two sides also discussed the ongoing peace process and the repatriation of displaced persons. Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and the officials made concluding remarks and closed the meeting in the afternoon.
