




The Agricultural Mechanization Department is working to develop 300 acres of farmland in Taikkyi township of Yangon Region.
It’s to accelerate the agricultural sector by promoting systematic land reclamation across the country which is the key to support the development of suitable crop lands and upland farm area for mechanized farming system.
In addition, 28,000 feet of roads will be laterite paved in 2022-23 budget year to facilitate farmers’ transportation crops by the Ministry of Construction.
Assistant Director, Land Acquisition Team ( Lower Myanmar), Tun Tun Oo said "We have planned to maintain the roads in rural areas every year because those roads are used to transport crops and for production in every year. For the long-term benefit for farmers, our department is coordinating with other departments which can do something that we cannot do. Once a field has been systematically developed, farmers’ representative committee is always formed which is comprised of relevant farmers."
The systematic tillage has irrigation and drainage canals, so crops can be irrigated as needed.
Assistant Director, Land Acquisition Team ( Lower Myanmar), Tun Tun Oo said "The relevant farmers’ committees are maintaining the drainage canals for the improvement of water flow in their respective areas every season. It is the responsibility of the farmers to make effectiveness of the government’s budget. That’s why, we want farmers to take care of maintenance of their farmlands."
In the 2021-22 mini budgets, systematic the Land Acquisition Team is developing 300 acres of farmland in Yintaik Kwin Village in Taikkyi Township of Yangon Region.
