










Union Minister for Commerce U Chit Swe met with officials from the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and affiliated associations in Yangon on Saturday to discuss ways to improve exports, streamline trade, and address challenges in import/export operations.
He emphasized cooperation between the government and private sector to double exports and strengthen the country’s economy. The Union Minister highlighted current support in agriculture inputs, and encouraged the search for new foreign markets.
He urged business groups to promote rubber, oil crops, fruits, fisheries, and CMP garment exports. Later in the day, the Union Minister met with 10 coastal shipping companies to discuss Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for transporting goods between Myanmar and Thailand, warning against the illegal transport of goods and stressing the need for compliance and smooth operations.
