Education Sector: Fresher Welcome at Technological University (Taunggyi)

Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun on Monday attended the 2022-2023 Academic Year Fresher Welcome Ceremony of the Technological University (Taunggyi) along with a project showcase to welcome the Shan State Day.

This Ceremony began with a singing performance, and the Chief Minister said that he’s so proud of the University and this event was also to build friendship, mutual respect, cooperation and unity between the freshers and seniors. It continued with presenting awards to outstanding students.

The Chief Minister also provided 1 million Kyats for the Ceremony. It’s learnt that the Technological University (Taunggyi) was established in 1992 as Government Technical Institute and was upgraded to Technical College in 1997 and finally, it was upgraded to University level in 2007. The University has turned out about 3,234 bachelor and master engineering graduates so far.
