





Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with Rectors, Principals and faculties of the universities and degree colleges in Yangon Region on Friday.
In his speech, the Acting President highlighted the importance of basic education, ensuring all school-age children attend school and receive quality teaching. He called for upgrading schools, improving teaching methods, and enhancing teacher quality, especially in ethnic regions where access to education remains limited.
On higher education, he emphasized improving universities and colleges, expanding vocational and diploma programs, and encouraging study, discussion, and critical thinking. The Acting President also linked education improvement with economic growth, stressing the need for skilled workers in agriculture, industry, economics, and law to boost productivity and national development.
He called for cooperation of the faculty members for turning out qualified human resources. After the meeting, the Acting President visited the Diamond Jubilee Hall of the Yangon University and instructed for renovation measures.
