Edible Oil Sector Development: Oil Mills Dev't Loan Management Task Force Meeting

The government is providing for the sufficiency of edible oil in local, reducing import of edible oil from abroad and improvement of socio-economic life of people in respective regions and states.

The Myanmar Oil Mills Development Loan Management Task Force held its 2nd Work Coordination Meeting (2/2022-2023) at the Ministry of Planning and Finance in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

The meeting aimed for upgrading of oil mills for producing edible oil in Myanmar, extension of installing advanced machines and providing capitals and loans for development of oil mills.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Task Force, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win urged related departments and regional/state governments to constantly coordinate with the organizations for the development of oil mills.

Officials also gave suggestions on the development oil milling industry. The meeting was attended by permanent secretaries and directors-general of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Commerce as well as officials of UMFCCI and the Myanmar Banks Association.
