Edible Oil Sector Development: Edible Oil Mill Owned By Cooperative Society Inspected

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe together with officials inspected the edible oil mill owned by Cooperative Society of Kyauk Sein Agriculture and General Business Enterprise in Phyote Khwe village-tract in Pobba Thiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on Wednesday.

During the inspection, officials reported on providing assistance for constructing edible oil mills, milling edible oil crops cultivated by farmers cooperative society and functions of the society.

In response to the reports, the Union Minister said that the government is implementing extended cultivation and production of edible oil crops by adopting policies.

He stressed the needs on implementing Contract Farming system to be high yield of sunflowers, beans and sesame that are the raw materials necessary for generating oil mills, registration of edible mills, quality control, cooperating in cultivation and production of oil crops by Cooperative Society, private entrepreneurs and farmers, expansion of oil crop cultivation such as peanut, sunflower and sesame in the village tract and helping other village-tracts in milling and he also said that relevant ministries will provide assistance.
