In line with the economic policies laid down by the government, inviting local and foreign investments, efforts have been made for the factories to successfully operate back.

Among the factories that have been damaged by the fire outbreaks in Yangon Region on 14th March, some of them are re-operating the business.

Wanxinda Bag Making Factory is among the damages, and it has now been back in operation with some 300 workers. The factory was opened on May 9, 2019 and operated with around 700 workers previously.

HR Manager, Wanxinda Holding Co., Ltd., Mya Thet Aung said "On March 14, 2021, the factory was set on fire by some groups of people. We closed the factory for 9 months and tried to reopen. On January 20, 2022, it was reopened inviting the old workers. Due to COVID-19 cases, only around 300 workers came back for work. Likewise, we gave 40% allowance to the workers for social security fund set by the government including their salaries and other benefits. There is no layoff and we provide allowances for the workers."

The factory has made necessary measures for reopening of the burned factory, through cooperation and coordination with the concerned departments.

HR Manager, Wanxinda Holding Co., Ltd., Mya Thet Aung said "It was burned almost the whole factory including equipment, raw and finished materials, stores and vehicles. We reported all the losses to the departmental officials step by step. Officials from Ministry of Labor and the office of Myanmar Investment Commission came and observed the situations and provided the necessary assistances. We want our workers’ convenience for their livelihoods and job opportunities."

The factory management also takes precaution measures for fire safety to prevent from the unexpected emergency situations.

HR Manager, Wanxinda Holding Co., Ltd., Mya Thet Aung said "Based on the lessons in case of the fire outbreak, we’ve instructed the necessary things for the workers and tightly do safety management plus setting the needy things instructed by Fire Services Department. Fire extinguishing drill and demonstrations were also conducted with the workers.  "
