Small scale domestic craft businesses here in Myanmar, using drying method in sunlight for dyed textiles, is becoming a question that how they are running in the period of rainy season.
Despite some difficulties, the business is improving at present, one of the business owners said.
Myat Myat Mu, The One Dye Textile and Crafts said "We have only a few difficulties of drying in this rainy season. While in summer, fabrics are easy to get dried, so for now it takes a bit longer than before to get dried. Before COVID period, range of this business is almost rare, but one year after COVID, it is seemed to get improve back and increase demands while it works now. "
Fabric Dyeing Business is the old business which is using indigo dyes on white color piece of cloths and textiles in order to make numerous colorings.
Later, the business is getting into higher level by using tie-dyeing methods creating own colors and private designs.
It is needed to use white color pieces of cloth and plain colored textiles for dyeing process. First, tie the fabric based on the required designs and tie again for needy areas after dyes on. And make some sort of designs in reaming parts and put all together into dyeing pot. Then take them out and shake them off after rinsing enough with water.
Finally, the beautiful designed and dyed clothes are available after removing ties and drying enough in sunlight.
Myat Myat Mu, The One Dye Textile and Crafts said "We buy textiles from TheinGyi Zay and Mingala Market. And we do cutting for the different designs that we want like gowns, shirts and then go to the tailor using absorbent cotton fabric as we started with white colors of origin. So, colors go into the fabric directly while it is dyeing so that the cloth quality is increased. That’s the strength of using own fabric. And it is more effective when fabric designs and cloth designs are adaptable. "
Besides the dyeing process for creating their private designs, theses small scale businesses also accept the orders from the CMP factories in the local market.
Myat Myat Mu, The One Dye Textile and Crafts said "We also use fabric from Inle of Shan State for CMP businesses. For this process, we don’t need to boil as dyes are dense on the fabric while only one or two steps of dyeing is needed. Then after rinsing enough with water and drying, processed fabrics can be moved directly to the tailor for cutting and creating designs. "
Nowadays, local Dyed-Clothing are updated and stands at high quality in the market. Therefore, using local products make the increase of country’s income and the encouragement for domestic affordable entrepreneurs.
