Economic Cooperation: Myanmar–India Trade and Investment Conclave

The Myanmar–India Trade and Investment Conclave was held in New Delhi on Sunday, providing a significant platform for enhancing economic cooperation and expanding commercial ties between the two neighboring countries.

Held during the official visit of President U Min Aung Hlaing to India, the conclave brought together government officials, business leaders, investors, and representatives from industry organizations to explore new opportunities for trade, investment, and bilateral collaboration. President U Min Aung Hlaing attended the event and delivered a keynote address. According to the statistics, bilateral trade between Myanmar and India has shown steady growth in recent years, with 1.95 billion dollar bilateral trade in 2025–2026.

Myanmar’s major exports to India include pulses, beans, rubber, fishery products, timber products, and garments. India exports pharmaceuticals, petroleum products, machinery, electrical equipment, chemicals, and construction materials to Myanmar.

The Myanmar–India Trade and Investment Conclave also provided an opportunity to discuss investment cooperation in sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, agriculture, information technology, logistics, and connectivity projects.
