Easter Mass at St. Peter’s Square with Pope Francis, where over 30,000 faithful gather from Rome and around the globe. More than 30,000 faithful, coming from Rome and from all over the world, packed St. Peter’s square on Sunday to take part in the Easter Mass celebrated by Pope Francis.

34 cardinals, 18 bishops and 300 priests took part in the celebration. Wearing gold-coloured vestments, Pope Francis took his place at a canopied altar on the steps of the Basilica. True to tradition, the square was decked with flowers coming from Holland; every year, florists from the Bulb Region provide the elaborate floral decorations on St. Peter’s Square. Some 40 Dutch volunteers this year prepared tens of thousands of flowers for Easter celebrations in St. Peter’s square.
