Easing Restrictions: Catching of squid granted during May

Myanmar Fisheries Department announced that the catching of squid will be granted in 5 Myanmar Coastal areas during May.

The Department has specified no-fishing areas and no-fishing period for three months in its territorial sea from April 1st to June 30th.

Catching of Squid can only carried out during in the open season and the activities suspend in the rainy season.

In order to solve the difficulties of entrepreneurs, to gain foreign income and to create job opportunities, the ban has been eased for squid catching.

Myanmar mainly squid to Thailand through border gates.
