
A combined team, including security force members, stopped and inspected an ALPHARD vehicle driven by Wai Lin Tun, with Aung Thu Phyo and Pyae Phyo Hein on board, near Htonebo Village, Pyin Oo Lwin Township, at 8 AM on November 29, based on intelligence.
A total of 2.39 million stimulant tablets were seized from the vehicle. According to the investigation findings, an additional 6.2 million stimulant tablets packed in sacks were seized from bushes near Khyay Myit Pin Village, Pyin Oo Lwin Township, at 9:30 AM on the same day.
Therefore, a total of 8.59 million stimulant tablets (with an estimated regional value of 12.885 billion kyat) were seized. Based on follow-up investigations, Kyaw Moe Tun, an accomplice involved in transporting the stimulant tablets, was arrested at his residence in the Yadanabon Ward, Okshitpin Town, Pandaung Township, at 10 PM on December 1.
Along with him, the other accomplices were identified as Kyaw Kyaw (still at large) from Okshitpin Town, Pandaung Township, Hein Zay Thu (still at large) from Okshitpin Town, Pandaung Township, and Kyaw Maung Maung Hlaing (still at large) from Shwedaung Town. It was discovered that they were transporting the drugs from Shan State to Taungup Township, Rakhine State, for sale.
They have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. The Myanmar Police Force reports that efforts are continuing to uncover other individuals involved in the chain of criminal activity.
