Drugs seized: 1.35 billion Kyats worth stimulant tablets seized

The stimulant tablets worth over 1.35 billion Kyats were seized in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region, according to the source of the Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on the tip-off, while the combined forces including the members of Anti-Narcotics Task Force were waiting near Kin Village, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay at 5:30 on 20th May 2021, the combined force made a stop of Toyota Hiace motor vehicle driven by Aung Aung from Ywangan, Shan State (South) to Han Myint Mo, Kyaukse Township and the passengers including Sai San Tun (a) Sai Pee, Sai Mon Khan (a) AhSai, Sai Ko Khan, Sai Khan Naung and Wei Phyo Aung, inspected vehicle and arrested 900,000 stimulant tablets worth 1.35 Billion Kyats in current regional market price.

According to the investigation, as it’s revealed that the seized stimulant tablets were carried from Wan Hin Village, Nansans Township, Shan State (South) to Mandalay, the suspects have been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and the investigation is underway to reveal the chain of accomplices, it’s learnt.
