Clashes at a football match in N'Zerekore, Guinea, on Sunday resulted in dozens of deaths, including children, following a stampede and violent confrontations.
The incident occurred during the final of a local tournament between Labe and Nzerekore teams, held in honor of Guinea's military leader, Mamadi Doumbouya. Security forces used teargas to control the chaos sparked by a disputed penalty, but panic ensued, with many fans attempting to escape the stadium.
The National Alliance for Alternation and Democracy called for an investigation into the incident, linking the tournament to political support for Doumbouya.
