




To ensure that the members of Sangha in monasteries across Monywa, Sagaing Region, do not face difficulties with alms food and provisions during the Rainy Retreat period, the Region Government organized a ceremony to offer rice, oil, salt, beans, medicine, and other donated items. The ceremony took place in the morning on July 24, at the Ah-Shay Lay Htat Monastery in Yonegyi Ward, Monywa. Attending the donation ceremony were Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw and his wife, along with departmental officials from the regional, district, and township levels.
First, the Region Chief Minister and the guests received the Five Precepts from the Presiding Sayadawgyi of the Ah-Shay Lay Htat Monastery Monastery in Monywa.
Following this, the Region Chief Minister and his wife, along with members of the Region Government and their wives, offered rice, oil, salt, beans, medicine, and other donated items to the Sayadawgyis and members of Sangha. The Region Chief Minister then presented matters concerning religious affairs.
Subsequently, the Region Chief Minister and relevant officials visited the Myoma Gatt Monastery in Yonegyi Ward and the Maha Gandhayon Monastery in Myawaddy Ward, both in Monywa. There, they also offered rice, oil, salt, beans, medicine, and other donated items, and the Region Chief Minister again presented matters concerning religious affairs.
Afterward, the Region Chief Minister and officials attended the Region Farmland Management Committee and the Region Vacant, Fallow, and Virgin Lands Management Committee work coordination meeting, held in the meeting room of the Region Government Office.
