




The Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, U Aye Tun, accompanied by officials, visited Kho-On Village, Kyaukme Township, Shan State (North), in the morning on December 17, paid homage to the Presiding Sayadaw of Kambawza Shan Monastery, Bhaddanta Paññobhāsa (Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja) , together with the venerable Sayadaws, and donated offerings.
He then listened to a sermon delivered by the Presiding Sayadaw of Kho-On Monastery, Bhaddanta Vaṇṇasīri , shared the merits and made necessary supplementary submissions in accordance with the instructions given by the Sayadaws regarding the enshrinement of the upper relic chamber of the Abhaya-Lābha-Siddhi Standing Buddha Image currently under construction.
In the afternoon, the Deputy Minister and officials visited the 150-bed Kyaukme Township People’s Hospital, where he donated 3 million kyats to the hospital superintendent to support renovation works enabling the use of the 100-bed inpatient ward.
Later in the day, the Deputy Minister and officials visited Basic Education High School No. (1) in Kyaukme. There, they donated Buddha images made of multi-flowers that had been consecrated at the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, along with Dhamma books and calendars featuring images of the Shwedagon Pagoda, for the devotional use of education staff serving in Kyaukme and their family members.
