Donation of Medical Supplies: Thailand–Myanmar Business Council donated

The Union Minister for Health, Dr. Thet Khaing Win, attended a handover ceremony for medicines and medical equipment donated by the Thailand–Myanmar Business Council, which is based in Bangkok, in support of the Ministry of Health’s earthquake response operations.

In his words of thanks, the Union Minister expressed his gratitude, on behalf of the people of Myanmar, to the Thailand–Myanmar Business Council for donating five dialysis machines valued at 3.6 million Thai baht, along with medicines and medical equipment, for Myanmar’s earthquake response and recovery efforts. He noted that the donation of dialysis machines would provide significant support to kidney disease treatment services. He also stated that this donation reflects the cooperation, goodwill, and close friendship between Myanmar and Thailand. He added that the donated medicines would be transported as quickly as possible to Mandalay General Hospital and to health facilities in Mandalay and Sagaing Regions.

Subsequently, the Chairman of the Thailand–Myanmar Business Council, Mr. Kich Aungvitulsatit, said that he was greatly honored and pleased to be able to support Myanmar’s Mandalay earthquake response efforts. He explained that the donation was made with the intention of strengthening friendship and goodwill between Thailand and Myanmar. He also recalled that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council had donated medicines and medical supplies to Yangon Region. He stated that the current donation of medicines and medical equipment was intended to support the ongoing earthquake recovery efforts, and affirmed that cooperation between the two countries in the health sector would continue.

Officials from the Ministry of Health, representatives of the Thailand–Myanmar Business Council, and representatives from the Federation of Thai Industries (Ranong Province, Thailand) attended the ceremony.

The medicines and medical equipment donated by the Thailand–Myanmar Business Council arrived as the first batch on 12 December, and the second batch is scheduled to arrive on 16 December 2025.
