Donation ceremony: Buddhist Literature Association donates religious books

The donation ceremony 40 copies of Tripitaka (Pali) and dictionary treatise books of the Buddhist Literature Association led by Shwe Thuwon Sayadaw was held at the Chan Myae Monastery in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

It was attended by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, deputy ministers, Nay Pyi Taw council member, Permanent Secretary, director generals, members of Buddhist literature association and officials.

The audiences received the Five Precepts from the State Sangha Central Working Committee Presiding Sayadaw of Maha Gandaryon Monastery Baddanta Thuzana Bhiwuntha and listened to Metta Sutta from the sanghas.

Next, Union Minister, deputy minister and officials offered the Waso robes and offertories to the Sayadaws. Then, officials donated 40 softcopies of Tripitaka (Pali) and soft copies, 100 sets of Pahtan treatise books donated by Letpadaung saydaw and Tripitaka (Pali) and dictionary treatise books to the Ministry of Religious and Culture and the Union Minister received the donations.

Next, Patron of the Buddhist Literature Association Letpadaung Sayadaw donated 50 million kyats fund for the ChanMyae Monastery and Union Minister gave the certificate of honor and also donated 20 million kyats to the association.

Then, Letpadaung Sayadaw explained about the donation, saying that the Pali scripture had to be typed by computer for 6 years from 2011 to 2017 and cost about 10 billion kyats, the pali books are published under the coordination of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, Ministry of Information and Printing house.

The Sayadaw added that the Buddhist Literature Association will cooperate with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture for theĀ  propagation of Buddha sasana across the country. Union Minister said that the donated pali books will be distributed to the religious universities and monasteries across the country.

The Union Minister expressed his belief that Myanmar is the only one which can maintain the religion for 5,000 years among the Theavada Buddhist countries in the world.

After that, the treasurer of Buddhist Literature Association reported matters on the history of the Association History and donation of 40 soft copies of Tripitaka (Pali).

Then, Union Minister gave the certificates of honor for the donation andĀ  listened to the religious sermons and the Union Minister and attendees shared the merits gained.
