An event for the distribution of fertilizers on a crop-yield-based system to monsoon paddy farmers not covered by the State Economic Promotion Fund was held at the temporary hall in Ohbo Village, Bago Township on August 26.

The event was attended by Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, and other officials. Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win discussed the region's efforts to achieve targeted crop yields and the ongoing initiatives to promote the use of drum seeders instead of traditional broadcasting methods.

Union Minister U Hla Moe explained that the government's objective in distributing fertilizers on a crop-yield-based system is to make them more affordable for farmers and accessible to those who cannot afford to pay upfront.

He emphasized that using these fertilizers is essential for reaching targeted yields, which in turn will raise farmers' income and standard of living. He said that this project was implemented because the well-being of individual farmers is crucial for the overall national economy.

The Union Minister also urged farmers to repay the value of the fertilizers, as well as loans from the Myanma Agricultural Development Bank, cooperative loans, and emerald green village project loans, after the harvest. He then discussed local development matters and addressed questions from the farmers.

After the speeches, the Chief Minister and other officials distributed urea and compound fertilizers to monsoon paddy farmers from 11 villages in Bago Township, including Ohbo Village.
